A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Keltron Component Complex Ltd and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut in an attractive function organized at the Senate Hall of NIT, Calicut on Friday 19-07-2024. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NITC, and Mr. K.G.Krishnakumar, Managing Director of Keltron Component Complex Ltd, exchanged the MoU. The MoU will focus on collaborative research in multi-disciplinary areas, including electric vehicle-related research and Supercapacitors. The MOU envisages industry-institute collaboration through pioneering innovations, research,  extensive product development, training and employment initiatives.

The Research and Collaboration Lab (E-TRAC Lab) which is a significant joint venture between the Centre for Electric Vehicle Engineering (CEVE) at NIT Calicut and Tata Elxsi Pvt Ltd was inaugurated during the function. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NITC  and Mr Shaju S, Vice President and Head of the Transportation Business Unit at Tata Elxsi, jointly inaugurated the research lab.

The collaboration will help students and research scholars further their research in electric vehicles, which is the future of transportation,  said Prof. Prasad Krishna. He also suggested expanding studies to environment-friendly technology such as Supercapacitors for transportation and avoiding the issues caused by batteries.
