Keltron's Founder Chairman and Managing Director PADMABHUSHAN DR.KPP NAMBIAR’s 9th Death Anniversary was observed on 30th June 2024, at his memorial (KPP Nambiar Electronics Research and Development Centre) at Keltron Component Complex Ltd., Kannur.
Shri. Ramachandran Kadannappalli, Hon. Minister for Registration, Museums, Archaeology and Archives, Shri. T.T.Balakrishnan, Kalliasseri Panchayath President, DR.KPP NAMBIAR’s brother Shri. K.P.Prabhakaran Nambiar, his family members, and several other dignitaries paid floral tributes to Dr.KPP NAMBIAR at the memorial built at Keltron Component Complex Ltd., Kannur, where his mortal remains were consigned to flames on 30th June.
Keltron Component Complex Ltd. was founded in 1974 by Dr. KPP Nambiar, and was its first Chairman and Managing Director. He remained in that position till his retirement in 1985. In 1985, Nambiar was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Telephone Industries Limited. In 1986, Nambiar was appointed Secretary of the Department of Electronics of Government of India (now the Ministry of Information Technology). During this stint, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing was formed with Pune as its headquarters merging his earlier initiatives such as ER&DC, Trivandrum to it. In 1989, Kerala Government appointed him as the Honorary Special Advisor and that was when he drew up the blue print for Techno Park in Thiruvananthapuram. He was awarded Padma Bhushan by Government of India for his contributions to the field of technology in 2006.
